Don't miss the rapture

Why you will NOT miss the rapture! 2 Timothy 1:10, ‘But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:’. The revelation of the Gospel is the revelation of lifeand immortality. Spiritual death, the separationof man from God has been abolished by Jesus. Therefore, through the preaching of the Gospel,we render life (union with God) and immortality(the eternity and indestructibility of such a union) apparent. As such, the one who believes the Gospel receives these. We can conclude thatthe believer will not be separated from God forever. The rapture (actually, the word doesn’t appear in the Bible) or rather the resurrection of the body is an effect of believing the Gospel. Romans 8:9-11, ‘But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwellin you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you,the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit islife because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwellin you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.’The indwelling of the Spirit is key to understanding why you won’t miss the rapture. Verse 11 describes the rapture lucidly; But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ fromthe dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. This means, if he dwells in you, he’ll quicken (resurrect, make alive) your mortal body. The INDWELLING of the Spirit is why a believer CANNOT miss the rapture. Ephesians 1:13-14, ‘In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.’ After trusting (believing the Gospel) we were sealed with earnest (downpayment) of the Spirit, until the redemption of the purchased possession (the rapture). Here, we see it clearly that the the purchased possession will be redeemed. The proof of this is the indwelling of the Spirit. How long will the Spirit stay? John 14:16, ‘And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever’. FOREVER!! How about my conduct and the rapture? Colossians 3:1-5, ‘If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:’. Look at this; when he shall appear, wealso shall appear THEREFORE… We see the rapture isn’t a function of our right living..rather,the assurance of the rapture prods us to live right. Let’s see one more scripture. 1 John 3:1-3, ‘Behold, what manner oflove the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.’ Glory.. Every man that HATH.. not seeks to have.. purifies himself.Hence, we see again that right living is a function of being assured of the rapture. Nowhere in the Bible was the rapture used to coerce people, by fear, into right living. Rather, it was to encourage believers to persevere in this wicked world with the surety of our appearance with the Lord!#Light
